Baked Apple [HCG Friendly]

This is a very good dessert option for those on the HCG diet. For those NOT on the diet, add a spoon of brown sugar in the core.
BAKED APPLE

1 apple
Cinnamon
Ground Cloves
Ground nutmeg
Water

Core the apple leaving about 1 inch in the bottom. DON'T core all the way through.

Place apple in raimkin. Fill with 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground cloves, dash nutmeg, and 2 tsp water. (water should reach top of apple) [non-dieters, add tsp of brown sugar]

Pour water in the dish with 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, and 1/2 tsp nutmeg around the apple in the dish.

Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve immediately! Careful, it'll be hot.

Home-made French Fries

HOME-MADE FRENCH FRIES

These are really simple to trow together! The hardest part is cutting the potato into french fry sizes..unless you have a french fry cutter, which I don't.

Anyway...
Cut several large baking potatoes into fries, then put them in a large kettle of cold water (will make them crisp) for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Place fries on a sheet pan in a single layer. Drizzle with a little vegetable oil and then bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tender, stirring them around occasionally

Sprinkle with salt! Enjoy this healthy snack!

You can also fry them for a bit-less-healthy snack. =)

I also want to wish my baby girl a Happy 7th Birthday!

Baked Cheesy Mac

This is NOT your normal macaroni and cheese! That's right, its Paula Deen's! Its also baked. I know, it keeps getting better and better! Just wait until you try it ;)

BAKED CHEESY MAC

4 cups cooked elbow macaroni, drained
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in large bowl and while still hot add the cheddar.

In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture. Pour mac mixture into a greased casserole dish and bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Top with additional cheese (optional).

~ I like to sprinkle bread crumbs over top (Italian seasoned). It adds a little crunch!

~This is perfect for doubling up on!

~I like to use the block cheddar cheese, it seems to melt better and blend better with the other flavors.
