Wedge Salad

I've seen this done at a few restaurants, and absolutely loved it! It defiantly impresses the guests and you can take a spin with it and change the ingredients.

1 head of lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
Ranch dressing
Bacon bits

Rinse and clean the head of lettuce. Then pound the "knot" on the counter and remove it. Then cut the head of lettuce into quarters. Remove a little bit of the inside "layers" to create a crevasse for the tomatoes. Add the tomatoes and drizzle with ranch dressing. Sprinkle with bacon bits to top it off!

Next salad, I will use strawberries instead of tomatoes, and the poppyseed-vinaigrette from the strawberry salad, instead of ranch. Sprinkled with chopped almonds. (I will take a picture and post it if it is irresistible!)

A great Tuesday blog hop!

I'm not particularly a fan of wedge salads for the pure reason I like romaine lettuce rather than iceburg... if you want a great strawberry salad I suggest using spinach, mandarin orange slices, some type of sliced nut (almond/pecan), and you can throw in dried cranberries!

I tried to reply to your comment, but you don't have the "reply-to e-mail" set up. I wouldn't dream of doing that work-out daily. I usually do lower body/upper body alternate days. With a yoga/pilates work-out thrown in alternately... I used to run 1.5-3mi 3 days a week, I can't believe you run 3-4mi daily! Holy cow... super woman!

Thanks for stopping in. Nice to meet you. My kids LOVE wedge salads. For some reason having one automatically makes whatever I am serving with it special.
(I am not sure how healthy their versions are covered in Ranch dressing and bacon and all....)

That looks delish. It's reminding me of the Modern Family episode where they get in a huge fight over a wedge salad!! Ha!
